5.1 他是什么样的人？

描述一个人时，我们不只说名字。

我们可以说这个人高不高、安不安静、友不友善、聪不聪明、有没有趣、是否乐于助人。这样别人就能更清楚地了解这个人。

这一节，我们会学习如何用简单英语问“他是什么样的人？”以及如何描述一个人的性格和外貌。

1. 描述人的词汇

先学习一些描述人的基础词汇。

What is he like? 问的是“他是什么样的人？”

通常是在问性格、特点、整体印象。

2. 问“他是什么样的人？”

你可以这样问：

注意：

不要把这句话理解成“他喜欢什么”。

What is he like? 不是问喜欢什么，而是问“他这个人怎么样”。

这两个句子很像，但意思不同。

3. 描述性格

描述一个人的性格，可以用 He is… 或 She is…

英语里形容词前面不需要加 “a”。

4. 描述外貌

描述外貌时，也可以用简单句子。

描述“有头发、眼睛、笑容”等，常用 has。

5. 用 and 连接两个特点

如果一个人有两个特点，可以用 and。

6. 用 but 表达对比

有时候，一个人有两个不同方向的特点，可以用 but。

He is serious, but friendly.	他很严肃，但是很友好。
She is shy, but helpful.	她很害羞，但是乐于助人。

注意：

but 的意思是“但是”。

它可以连接两个有对比的特点。

7. 回答“他是什么样的人？”

别人问 What is he like? 时，你可以这样回答：

8. 好用的小区别：like 的两个意思

like 在这一课里很重要，因为它有两个常见意思。

第一个意思：像 / 是什么样。

第二个意思：喜欢。
